How industrialization happened and how economic development started ? This book approaches industrialization and economic development globally, taking into account the emerging economies represented by BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) and MIST (Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea, and Turkey), together with emerging nations in Latin America and Africa. The experiences of the Western European forerunners, along with the paths taken by the United States, Canada, Japan, and Central and Eastern European countries, are revisited under a new light of historical studies.<\/p>\n

Ces actes comportent deux parties :\u00ab Mondialisation et mod\u00e8les nationaux de d\u00e9veloppement \u00bb et \u00ab Mondialisation et strat\u00e9gies d’entreprises \u00bb.<\/p>\n

L’objet de l’ouvrage est d’explorer, en longue dur\u00e9e, la liaison entre mondialisation des \u00e9changes, strat\u00e9gies nationales de d\u00e9veloppement et \u00e9mergence des grandes entreprises \u00e0 vocation multinationale.<\/p>\n

L’impressionnante croissance \u00e9conomique de la Chine, des BRICS et des MIST s’est accompagn\u00e9e de la mont\u00e9e de firmes multinationales \u00e9mergentes ou “global challengers”. Telle a \u00e9t\u00e9 l’origine du projet “Globalization, National Patterns of Development and Strategies of Firms, XIXth-XXIth Centuries”, retenu au 22e Congr\u00e8s international des Sciences historiques de Jinan. Les politiques \u00e9conomiques des \u00e9tats sont en effet \u00e9troitement li\u00e9es \u00e0 la multinationalisation des firmes comme le montrent l’exemple des compagnies \u00e0 chartes, ou celui des petits pays (Finlande, Suisse) en tant qu’acteurs de la Mondialisation.<\/p>\n
